Like Bharat, Mein Bhi Azaad Hoon: Avinash Tiwary on Freedom, Films and Finding Purpose

He is your typical small town boy with the subtle charm that has captivated millions of hearts across the nation. In Lucknow for the unveiling of the trailer of his upcoming film well known Bollywood star Avinash Tiwary  steps into the spotlight once again with Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 and  sits down for an exclusive conversation with Editor Indie Times, opening up about how he has has quietly carved a niche for himself with performances that linger long after the credits roll.  Candid and introspective, he reflects on navigating fame, embracing vulnerability on screen, and why he continues to take the road less travelled in Bollywood. Q What attracted you to the role of Sunny in Ginny Wedss Sunny 2? Ans .I deeply connected with Sunny’s journey in the film. The pressure to get married is something most single men in our society experience, and I was no exception, I’ve faced it within my own family as well. At the same time, the film is a warm, light-hearted love story filled with humour and heart. When I read the script, I felt a sense of comfort that here  was a film I could watch with my mother and children in my family, something I hadn’t been able to do in a long time. That meant a lot to me. It also gave me confidence that if my own family could enjoy the film with me together, then the audience coming to watch it would feel the same connection. At the end of the film everyone of us who is facing some strife in their relationships will definitely think once to give it one more try, what could be better than that? Q. You’ve spent close to 15 years in the industry now, when you look back, what has that journey been like for you? And without the backing of a star family, how challenging was it to find your footing in the early years? Ans. Many have witnessed my struggles over the past 15 years, it has been a long and challenging journey. Not many make it to the stage where they can lead as a protagonist in films, and I consider myself fortunate to have reached that point. Despite the hardships, I kept going, and eventually, I began to see the results of my perseverance. Along the way, I also found a deeper purpose, to use my work in films as a way to represent and advocate for social justice. Q. You have trained in theatre. Has that added value to your acting career? How so? Ans. Theatre makes an actor deeply aware of their own talent and helps shape their true calibre. It teaches you everything, from expressing yourself with authenticity to mastering voice modulation, expressions, and the subtle nuances of inhabiting a character. It’s where I learned to truly understand my craft. I believe anyone who aspires to be an actor should experience theatre first, it builds a foundation that nothing else can replace.  Q. Tell us about Laila Majnu, it really touched a chord with the audience? Ans. Laila Majnu was released nine years ago, but it wasn’t until its re-release that I truly received widespread appreciation from the audience. I sometimes wish the film had been embraced with the same love when it first came out, it might have shaped a very different trajectory for my career. That said, I’m grateful it eventually found its audience and even sparked a trend of re-releases. The response reaffirmed that people connected deeply with its core idea, that if you truly love someone, you should be willing to go all the way to have them in your life. Q. You left engineering in your fourth semester to pursue acting. What message would you give your fans who are torn between continuing their studies and following a creative passion?  Ans. I didn’t abandon one path for another, I simply chose to study something different. Maine bhi padhai se hi acting seekhi. I joined the Barry John Acting Studio to learn acting and later moved to the New York Acting School to further hone my skills. So, I never gave up on education, I just continued it in a different form. That’s what I would like to tell my fans: “gyaan ko lene se zyada zaroori hai us gyaan ko apni life mein kaise use karna.” For me, there is no substitute for learning and knowledge, it’s what shapes you, no matter which path you choose. Q. You share a birthday with India, Aug 15th is special for you? Ans. Yeah (laughs), that’s amazing, it just reiterates that like Bharat,  mein bhi azaad hoon, and I live my life independently, truly valuing my freedom. The only thing that crosses my mind on that day is that it’s a dry day, which sometimes throws a wrench in any celebrations I might have planned.

District Inspector of Schools Unveils the Makeover of Lucknow’s Classrooms

If everything goes as planned, the days of rote learning and  “nakal” (cheating) cultures in schools  are numbered. In a much awaited  episode of Indie Talk Show, Host Charanpreet Singh Bagga, quizzes Lucknow’s District Inspector of Schools (DIOS), Rakesh Kumar, on the ambitious modernization plan that is turning the city’s government schools into high-tech hubs of innovation. Lucknow’s schools are undergoing an amazing transformation. Improved infrastructure, increased attendance and an AI backed revolution in government schools is now the future of education in the city, says the DIOS of Lucknow. He  shares,  “Lucknow’s government schools are no longer just about textbooks. Through a unique partnership with private tech firms, students are now being trained in Artificial Intelligence and coding via interactive chatbots and WhatsApp-based modules.Technology is a reality we must embrace. Our students are already learning to navigate AI positively.” This will not only help in ending the  ‘Nakal’ Culture with AI Surveillance but the message that is being sent out to the students, parents, and teachers by Kumar,  is loud and clear that those attempting to compromise the integrity of board exams will not be tolerated. .Explains Kumar, “While CCTV has been the standard, the department is now deploying AI-enabled cameras in exam “strongrooms” heavily secured high-security area  where question papers are stored. These cameras are designed to detect and report any suspicious or unauthorized movement in real-time, ensuring a level of security previously unseen in the state’s education history.” If that was innovative, wait till Kumar shares during his discourse about a  Zero-Tolerance Policy on Corporal Punishment. “We will strongly ensure that students experience  the “humane” side of education, and the era of cane is firmly over,” He states.  To demonstrate that he is serious about the changes he is bringing in education, he  recounted a recent local case where a teacher faced severe disciplinary action after a student was injured. Kumar argues that in a world of high academic pressure and social media influence, the focus must shift from punishment to psychological conversation and mental wellbeing. . When asked how he was ensuring that, pat comes the reply, “We assess schools not just by results, but by the atmosphere and the student’s ability to grasp concepts mentally,” he finishes.. Another innovation in the pipeline is the introduction of the- “New ‘Credit’ System. Says Kumar, “For higher education students, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is introducing a modular approach to degrees. Under the new Academic Bank of Credits, a student who needs to pause their studies for a year or two, due to work or personal reasons will no longer lose their progress. Their “credits” stay in a digital bank, allowing them to resume their education whenever they are ready.” Any sops for rural and primary school? “Definitely, rural and primary schools are also seeing a physical facelift. Under the “Operation Kayakalp” initiative, community and government cooperation has brought high-quality tiling, clean drinking water, and consistent lighting to schools that were previously neglected.  During a rapid fire segment, Kumar made his priorities clear: he would rather upgrade an old school into a modern facility than simply build a new one, favoring collaboration over strictness every time. Quite a noble thought Sir here’s wishing more power to you! Source: Indie Talk Show EP 22 | Inside Lucknow’s Education System Reported by: Indie Times Coverage

Lucknow Super Giants: From Underdogs to Elite Contenders

The transformation of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) from a 2022 expansion team to a perennial IPL powerhouse is one of the most clinical success stories in modern franchise cricket. While the city’s heritage is rooted in the slow, deliberate grace of the Nawabi era, the cricket played at the Ekana Stadium is anything but slow. It is high-octane, data-driven, and relentlessly competitive. The early years established a high ceiling, with back-to-back third-place finishes in 2022 and 2023. The seasons of 2024 and 2025 were mediocre to say the least. However, the 2026 season feels like a definitive turning point. The transition of leadership to Rishabh Pant has infused the squad with synergy that was missing during the middle-table finishes of the previous two years. Pant’s recent match-winning 68 against Hyderabad wasn’t just about the runs; it was a tactical statement of intent. The 2026 roster strikes a rare balance: the raw power of Nicholas Pooran, the stability of Aiden Markram, and a local scouting network that continues to unearth gems like Ayush Badoni. Then we have the most  reliable and potent Mohammad Shami  whose twenty four deliveries may dictate the course of the match. With six home games remaining—Three in the month of April and May respectively, the mission is clear. LSG is no longer satisfied with being “The Best of The New Teams.” Under the floodlights of Gomti Nagar, the goal has shifted from playoff qualification to silverware.  For the Lucknow faithful, the dream of a maiden title has never felt more grounded in reality.

UP’s School Chalo Abhiyaan: Class Rooms Buzz as Enrollment Soars

The “School Chalo Abhiyan” launched by the government of Uttar Pradesh under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is a significant initiative aimed at achieving universal school enrollment and strengthening the state’s basic education system. The 2026 “School Chalo Campaign”, inaugurated in Varanasi for the 2026–27 academic session, reflects the UP Government’s continued emphasis on ensuring that no child is deprived of education. Statistics reveal that enrollment under the campaign was 1.9 crore (19 Million) children were enrolled in primary and upper primary schools during the campaign peak phase in 2022. Over 40 lakh (4 million) additional students were enrolled in schools over a span of about four years under the campaign. Special drives identified and enrolled nearly 3.9 lakh out-of-school children and Over 2.5 lakh children with disabilities The current 2026 campaign aims to bring back around 1.5 lakh dropout children into schools. This shows a continued focus not just on fresh admissions but also on retention and re-entry. The School Chalo Abhiyan has clearly succeeded in boosting enrollment and reducing dropouts, especially in its early years. However, recent data shows that maintaining those numbers is a challenge, making the current campaigns more focused on bringing students back and sustaining participation, not just enrolling them once. The campaign is being conducted in two phases from April 1 to April 15 and July 1 to July 15, 2026  across all districts of the state. Its primary objective is to identify and enroll out-of-school children, especially those who have dropped out or never attended school. The initiative targets children in the 6–14 age group and aligns with the broader goal of achieving 100% enrollment in primary and upper primary schools.  A key feature of the campaign is its community-driven approach. Teachers, parents, local representatives, and government officials actively participate in awareness drives, rallies, and enrollment campaigns, transforming it into a mass movement. The government also supports students by distributing free textbooks, school bags, uniforms, and other learning materials, thereby reducing financial barriers to education.  The campaign places special emphasis on marginalized groups, including girls, children with disabilities, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Efforts are being made to ensure smooth transitions from Anganwadi centers to formal schooling and between different class levels. Additionally, digital tools and tracking systems are used to identify dropout students and bring them back into the education system. Since its inception, the initiative has contributed to a significant decline in dropout rates and improved school infrastructure. Overall, the “School Chalo Abhiyan” represents a comprehensive and inclusive effort by the Yogi government to promote education as a fundamental right and a driver of social change.

Unlocking Our True Self Through the Hidden Power of Destiny Numbers

In numerology, the Birth Number and Destiny Number are considered two of the most powerful keys to understanding a person’s nature, behaviour, habits, and even their future path.  Well known Astro-Numerologer,  By Vikasz A Thadani takes us through the mysterious world of numbers and explain how they shape our life. Your Birth Number, also known as the Psychic or Ruling Number, is derived from the date you were born. It reflects your natural instincts, your everyday personality, and the way you respond to life’s situations. In many ways, it quietly shapes your journey, influencing how events unfold as you move through different phases of life. In this week’s feature, we step into this fascinating and mysterious world of numbers, exploring how they shape our lives in ways we often don’t even realise. Numbers tell a story, your story. They highlight the harmony (or tension) between who you are on the inside and where life is leading you.  For example, if you were born on the 15th, your birth number is 1 + 5 = 6. It represents your natural talents, instinctive personality, and how you behave in daily life. Your specific number is considered a fixed tool that you possess from birth. It reveals the “inner you”; your core needs and natural desires. The Destiny Number or Life Path Number is calculated by adding all the digits in your full birth date i.e.day, month, and year and reducing it to a single digit from 1-9.   When these numbers are in harmony, life feels smooth, helping you achieve your destiny. On the other hand if these numbers are non supportive they keep attracting different challenges in life. Universally having your birth number  as 1, 3, 5, 6 is termed lucky but that doesn’t mean that others are unlucky, although number 4 and 8 are believed to face  tough situation life ,while number 9 grows with it’s abilities to take risks in life, number 2 born are believed to use their intellect and their natural power of intuition to attract success and number 7 born have the ability to change their destiny through learning deep analysis and hard work. These are some basic facts as a lot more can be said about these numbers. Now the combination of birth number with destiny number plays a big role in attracting success and even failure . For example having destiny no. as 4 or 8 adds to various sufferings in life as these numbers represent Rahu and Shani so people having destiny number  4 or 8 usually find themselves in situations which are tough to solve and struggle with  health issues and personal relationships. Using numerology one can definitely change their destiny and over come any hurdle. . On the other hand every number has some friendly combinations, these combinations are believed to attract big success naturally. Some examples are: 1 & 1 3 5 9 7 2 & 1 2 3 7 3 & 1 3 5 6 9 4 & 1 6  5 & 1 3 5 6 7  6 & 3 5 6 9  7 & 1 2 5 6 7  8 & 5 6 9 & 1 3 6 9

UNESCO Crowns Lucknow-Creative City Of Gastronomy

In 2025, the city of Lucknow found its place on the global culinary map when UNESCO named it a Creative City of Gastronomy. For many, this was an international recognition; for the people of Lucknow, it felt deeply personal like a long-awaited acknowledgment of stories simmered slowly over centuries.Lucknow’s food is not just about taste; it is about memory, patience, and grace. In the narrow lanes where the aroma of kebabs lingers in the air, recipes are not written down, they are inherited. A father teaches his son the exact moment when a galouti kebab melts perfectly on the tongue. A grandmother folds history into every sheermal she bakes. These are not just dishes; they are living traditions. It’s no wonder that the tittle puts Lucknow on the world food map celebrating its legendary dishes like the Galouti Kebabs, Tunday Kebabs, Luckhnawi Biryani, Nihari and the famous Makkhan Malai. The recognition by UNESCO also celebrates the soul of Awadhi cuisine, its refined techniques like dum pukht, where food is cooked slowly in sealed pots, allowing flavors to deepen with time. But beyond technique lies emotion. Every dish carries whispers of the Nawabi era, of Royal kitchens and humble street vendors alike, bound together by a shared devotion to craft.  What makes this honor truly meaningful is the people behind it. The street-side cook who wakes before dawn, the artisan who grinds spices by hand, the families who gather around a meal that tastes like home these are the real custodians of Lucknow’s gastronomic heritage. UNESCO’s recognition shines a light on their quiet dedication. In a fast-moving world, where convenience often replaces care, Lucknow stands as a reminder that some things cannot be rushed. Its food teaches patience, respect for tradition, and the beauty of slowing down. As Lucknow steps onto the global stage, it carries with it not just recipes, but emotions, warm, fragrant, and deeply human. And perhaps that is what truly makes it worthy of being called a Creative City of Gastronomy: not just the richness of its food, but the richness of its heart.  Bon Appetite! All. Box:  UNESCO recognized Lucknow because of: This food tradition reflects both heritage and modern creativity.

Healing through Neuro Linguistic Programming

Healing Through NLP (personal story included) Healing through NLP has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. Not just as a coach but as someone who has gone through mental and physical trauma and found a way back to herself. There was a phase in my life when everything looked fine on the outside, but within, I was carrying deep emotional pain. The memories, the fear, the constant flashbacks, lost self-esteem, they had their own way of showing up, often when I least expected them. I felt stuck in a loop, as if my past was controlling my present. What I didn’t realize back then was that trauma is not just the experience itself, but how our subconscious mind stores and replays it in a pattern. NLP was the turning point of my life. It didn’t feel like a big miracle in the beginning, but something shifted. And that was enough for me to practice NLP on a daily basis. I started with a simple yet powerful technique “dissociation”. Instead of reliving my painful memories, I began to observe them, as if I was watching a scene on a screen. That one shift reduced the intensity of my emotions. The same memory no longer had the same power over me. Another powerful technique is “reframing”. I didn’t change what happened but I changed what it meant to me. I stopped seeing myself as a victim and started seeing my strength in surviving it. “Anchoring” positive states has been my favourite practice in NLP, intentionally connecting with moments where I felt safe, strong, and in control. Slowly, my subconscious mind began to create new emotional patterns. And over time, something beautiful happened. The flashbacks that once controlled me started losing their grip. All the past memories got disempowered and blurred and that’s my win. And here started a new story from healing life to leading life with the power of the subconscious mind. That’s the power of NLP. It gives you power to reprogram your subconscious mind and lead a life you desire.  Today, I share these tools with others, because I know how it feels to be trapped in your own mind and I also know the freedom that comes when you finally take your power back. Healing is possible with NLP and everyone should learn it. ARTICLE BY DR.APARNA PANDEY

Visionary Leadership: Uttar Pradesh’s Strategic Defence Corridor

The Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) is one of India’s most ambitious infrastructure projects, spearheaded by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government. Designed to reduce foreign dependency, it aims to transform the state into a global hub for aerospace and defence manufacturing. As of March 2026, several high-profile units are already operational, moving the corridor well beyond its planning phase. The Defence Corridor represents a transformative step toward strengthening India’s self-reliance in military production while accelerating regional economic growth. The initiative links key cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, Aligarh, and Chitrakoot, forming a network to support defence manufacturing and innovation. The project has attracted over ₹35,500 crore (approx. $4.2 billion) in investment proposals, with more than ₹25,000 crore already realized. Nine industrial units are fully operational, and another 15 are expected to begin production during the 2026–27 financial year. The Yogi government projects nearly 2 lakh jobs by the end of 2026, ranging from high-tech R&D roles to factory floor operations. Innovation hubs like IIT Kanpur and IIT BHU have been integrated as centres of excellence, bridging academic research and battlefield technology. Over 1,700 hectares of land have been procured, with 177 MoUs signed. At its core, the corridor promotes indigenous defence production, offering public and private sector companies the platform to manufacture equipment from small arms to advanced aerospace systems. This aligns with the national vision of boosting domestic capabilities and technological advancement. The ecosystem not only strengthens the defence sector but also stimulates local economies, particularly in less industrialized regions like Bundelkhand. Infrastructure upgrades—including highways, rail networks, and logistics hubs, ensure smooth movement of goods, while land banks and policy incentives attract further investment. The BrahMos missile unit in Lucknow is progressing rapidly, expected to deliver its first “Made in UP” missiles to the Indian Armed Forces and export partners sooner than planned. The Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor is more than an industrial project; it is a strategic initiative merging national security and economic development. If fully realized, it could position Uttar Pradesh as a key hub in India’s defence manufacturing landscape while significantly advancing the country’s self-reliance goals.
