Lucknow Super Giants: From Underdogs to Elite Contenders

The transformation of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) from a 2022 expansion team to a perennial IPL powerhouse is one of the most clinical success stories in modern franchise cricket. While the city’s heritage is rooted in the slow, deliberate grace of the Nawabi era, the cricket played at the Ekana Stadium is anything but slow. It is high-octane, data-driven, and relentlessly competitive. The early years established a high ceiling, with back-to-back third-place finishes in 2022 and 2023. The seasons of 2024 and 2025 were mediocre to say the least. However, the 2026 season feels like a definitive turning point. The transition of leadership to Rishabh Pant has infused the squad with synergy that was missing during the middle-table finishes of the previous two years. Pant’s recent match-winning 68 against Hyderabad wasn’t just about the runs; it was a tactical statement of intent. The 2026 roster strikes a rare balance: the raw power of Nicholas Pooran, the stability of Aiden Markram, and a local scouting network that continues to unearth gems like Ayush Badoni. Then we have the most  reliable and potent Mohammad Shami  whose twenty four deliveries may dictate the course of the match. With six home games remaining—Three in the month of April and May respectively, the mission is clear. LSG is no longer satisfied with being “The Best of The New Teams.” Under the floodlights of Gomti Nagar, the goal has shifted from playoff qualification to silverware.  For the Lucknow faithful, the dream of a maiden title has never felt more grounded in reality.

UP’s School Chalo Abhiyaan: Class Rooms Buzz as Enrollment Soars

The “School Chalo Abhiyan” launched by the government of Uttar Pradesh under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is a significant initiative aimed at achieving universal school enrollment and strengthening the state’s basic education system. The 2026 “School Chalo Campaign”, inaugurated in Varanasi for the 2026–27 academic session, reflects the UP Government’s continued emphasis on ensuring that no child is deprived of education. Statistics reveal that enrollment under the campaign was 1.9 crore (19 Million) children were enrolled in primary and upper primary schools during the campaign peak phase in 2022. Over 40 lakh (4 million) additional students were enrolled in schools over a span of about four years under the campaign. Special drives identified and enrolled nearly 3.9 lakh out-of-school children and Over 2.5 lakh children with disabilities The current 2026 campaign aims to bring back around 1.5 lakh dropout children into schools. This shows a continued focus not just on fresh admissions but also on retention and re-entry. The School Chalo Abhiyan has clearly succeeded in boosting enrollment and reducing dropouts, especially in its early years. However, recent data shows that maintaining those numbers is a challenge, making the current campaigns more focused on bringing students back and sustaining participation, not just enrolling them once. The campaign is being conducted in two phases from April 1 to April 15 and July 1 to July 15, 2026  across all districts of the state. Its primary objective is to identify and enroll out-of-school children, especially those who have dropped out or never attended school. The initiative targets children in the 6–14 age group and aligns with the broader goal of achieving 100% enrollment in primary and upper primary schools.  A key feature of the campaign is its community-driven approach. Teachers, parents, local representatives, and government officials actively participate in awareness drives, rallies, and enrollment campaigns, transforming it into a mass movement. The government also supports students by distributing free textbooks, school bags, uniforms, and other learning materials, thereby reducing financial barriers to education.  The campaign places special emphasis on marginalized groups, including girls, children with disabilities, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Efforts are being made to ensure smooth transitions from Anganwadi centers to formal schooling and between different class levels. Additionally, digital tools and tracking systems are used to identify dropout students and bring them back into the education system. Since its inception, the initiative has contributed to a significant decline in dropout rates and improved school infrastructure. Overall, the “School Chalo Abhiyan” represents a comprehensive and inclusive effort by the Yogi government to promote education as a fundamental right and a driver of social change.

Unlocking Our True Self Through the Hidden Power of Destiny Numbers

In numerology, the Birth Number and Destiny Number are considered two of the most powerful keys to understanding a person’s nature, behaviour, habits, and even their future path.  Well known Astro-Numerologer,  By Vikasz A Thadani takes us through the mysterious world of numbers and explain how they shape our life. Your Birth Number, also known as the Psychic or Ruling Number, is derived from the date you were born. It reflects your natural instincts, your everyday personality, and the way you respond to life’s situations. In many ways, it quietly shapes your journey, influencing how events unfold as you move through different phases of life. In this week’s feature, we step into this fascinating and mysterious world of numbers, exploring how they shape our lives in ways we often don’t even realise. Numbers tell a story, your story. They highlight the harmony (or tension) between who you are on the inside and where life is leading you.  For example, if you were born on the 15th, your birth number is 1 + 5 = 6. It represents your natural talents, instinctive personality, and how you behave in daily life. Your specific number is considered a fixed tool that you possess from birth. It reveals the “inner you”; your core needs and natural desires. The Destiny Number or Life Path Number is calculated by adding all the digits in your full birth date i.e.day, month, and year and reducing it to a single digit from 1-9.   When these numbers are in harmony, life feels smooth, helping you achieve your destiny. On the other hand if these numbers are non supportive they keep attracting different challenges in life. Universally having your birth number  as 1, 3, 5, 6 is termed lucky but that doesn’t mean that others are unlucky, although number 4 and 8 are believed to face  tough situation life ,while number 9 grows with it’s abilities to take risks in life, number 2 born are believed to use their intellect and their natural power of intuition to attract success and number 7 born have the ability to change their destiny through learning deep analysis and hard work. These are some basic facts as a lot more can be said about these numbers. Now the combination of birth number with destiny number plays a big role in attracting success and even failure . For example having destiny no. as 4 or 8 adds to various sufferings in life as these numbers represent Rahu and Shani so people having destiny number  4 or 8 usually find themselves in situations which are tough to solve and struggle with  health issues and personal relationships. Using numerology one can definitely change their destiny and over come any hurdle. . On the other hand every number has some friendly combinations, these combinations are believed to attract big success naturally. Some examples are: 1 & 1 3 5 9 7 2 & 1 2 3 7 3 & 1 3 5 6 9 4 & 1 6  5 & 1 3 5 6 7  6 & 3 5 6 9  7 & 1 2 5 6 7  8 & 5 6 9 & 1 3 6 9

UNESCO Crowns Lucknow-Creative City Of Gastronomy

In 2025, the city of Lucknow found its place on the global culinary map when UNESCO named it a Creative City of Gastronomy. For many, this was an international recognition; for the people of Lucknow, it felt deeply personal like a long-awaited acknowledgment of stories simmered slowly over centuries.Lucknow’s food is not just about taste; it is about memory, patience, and grace. In the narrow lanes where the aroma of kebabs lingers in the air, recipes are not written down, they are inherited. A father teaches his son the exact moment when a galouti kebab melts perfectly on the tongue. A grandmother folds history into every sheermal she bakes. These are not just dishes; they are living traditions. It’s no wonder that the tittle puts Lucknow on the world food map celebrating its legendary dishes like the Galouti Kebabs, Tunday Kebabs, Luckhnawi Biryani, Nihari and the famous Makkhan Malai. The recognition by UNESCO also celebrates the soul of Awadhi cuisine, its refined techniques like dum pukht, where food is cooked slowly in sealed pots, allowing flavors to deepen with time. But beyond technique lies emotion. Every dish carries whispers of the Nawabi era, of Royal kitchens and humble street vendors alike, bound together by a shared devotion to craft.  What makes this honor truly meaningful is the people behind it. The street-side cook who wakes before dawn, the artisan who grinds spices by hand, the families who gather around a meal that tastes like home these are the real custodians of Lucknow’s gastronomic heritage. UNESCO’s recognition shines a light on their quiet dedication. In a fast-moving world, where convenience often replaces care, Lucknow stands as a reminder that some things cannot be rushed. Its food teaches patience, respect for tradition, and the beauty of slowing down. As Lucknow steps onto the global stage, it carries with it not just recipes, but emotions, warm, fragrant, and deeply human. And perhaps that is what truly makes it worthy of being called a Creative City of Gastronomy: not just the richness of its food, but the richness of its heart.  Bon Appetite! All. Box:  UNESCO recognized Lucknow because of: This food tradition reflects both heritage and modern creativity.

Healing through Neuro Linguistic Programming

Healing Through NLP (personal story included) Healing through NLP has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. Not just as a coach but as someone who has gone through mental and physical trauma and found a way back to herself. There was a phase in my life when everything looked fine on the outside, but within, I was carrying deep emotional pain. The memories, the fear, the constant flashbacks, lost self-esteem, they had their own way of showing up, often when I least expected them. I felt stuck in a loop, as if my past was controlling my present. What I didn’t realize back then was that trauma is not just the experience itself, but how our subconscious mind stores and replays it in a pattern. NLP was the turning point of my life. It didn’t feel like a big miracle in the beginning, but something shifted. And that was enough for me to practice NLP on a daily basis. I started with a simple yet powerful technique “dissociation”. Instead of reliving my painful memories, I began to observe them, as if I was watching a scene on a screen. That one shift reduced the intensity of my emotions. The same memory no longer had the same power over me. Another powerful technique is “reframing”. I didn’t change what happened but I changed what it meant to me. I stopped seeing myself as a victim and started seeing my strength in surviving it. “Anchoring” positive states has been my favourite practice in NLP, intentionally connecting with moments where I felt safe, strong, and in control. Slowly, my subconscious mind began to create new emotional patterns. And over time, something beautiful happened. The flashbacks that once controlled me started losing their grip. All the past memories got disempowered and blurred and that’s my win. And here started a new story from healing life to leading life with the power of the subconscious mind. That’s the power of NLP. It gives you power to reprogram your subconscious mind and lead a life you desire.  Today, I share these tools with others, because I know how it feels to be trapped in your own mind and I also know the freedom that comes when you finally take your power back. Healing is possible with NLP and everyone should learn it. ARTICLE BY DR.APARNA PANDEY

Visionary Leadership: Uttar Pradesh’s Strategic Defence Corridor

The Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) is one of India’s most ambitious infrastructure projects, spearheaded by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government. Designed to reduce foreign dependency, it aims to transform the state into a global hub for aerospace and defence manufacturing. As of March 2026, several high-profile units are already operational, moving the corridor well beyond its planning phase. The Defence Corridor represents a transformative step toward strengthening India’s self-reliance in military production while accelerating regional economic growth. The initiative links key cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, Aligarh, and Chitrakoot, forming a network to support defence manufacturing and innovation. The project has attracted over ₹35,500 crore (approx. $4.2 billion) in investment proposals, with more than ₹25,000 crore already realized. Nine industrial units are fully operational, and another 15 are expected to begin production during the 2026–27 financial year. The Yogi government projects nearly 2 lakh jobs by the end of 2026, ranging from high-tech R&D roles to factory floor operations. Innovation hubs like IIT Kanpur and IIT BHU have been integrated as centres of excellence, bridging academic research and battlefield technology. Over 1,700 hectares of land have been procured, with 177 MoUs signed. At its core, the corridor promotes indigenous defence production, offering public and private sector companies the platform to manufacture equipment from small arms to advanced aerospace systems. This aligns with the national vision of boosting domestic capabilities and technological advancement. The ecosystem not only strengthens the defence sector but also stimulates local economies, particularly in less industrialized regions like Bundelkhand. Infrastructure upgrades—including highways, rail networks, and logistics hubs, ensure smooth movement of goods, while land banks and policy incentives attract further investment. The BrahMos missile unit in Lucknow is progressing rapidly, expected to deliver its first “Made in UP” missiles to the Indian Armed Forces and export partners sooner than planned. The Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor is more than an industrial project; it is a strategic initiative merging national security and economic development. If fully realized, it could position Uttar Pradesh as a key hub in India’s defence manufacturing landscape while significantly advancing the country’s self-reliance goals.

MATCH NIGHT MAGIC: IPL SCREENINGS TURN LUCKNOW CAFÉS INTO MINI STADIUMS

From big screens to shared cheers, April 1 turned cafés and lounges into the city’s liveliest match arenas. In Lucknow, IPL nights are no longer watched, they’re celebrated together.April 1 wasn’t just another match day in Lucknow, it was a city-wide watch party. As the Indian Premier League lit up screens, cafés, lounges, and bars across the city transformed into buzzing hubs where cricket met conversation, food, and community. From early evening, tables began filling up, teal jerseys made their way out of wardrobes, and the familiar hum of anticipation took over. Inside, the vibe was electric. Large LED screens and projectors recreated a stadium-like atmosphere, complete with live commentary, cheers, and collective gasps at every near miss. Every boundary brought strangers together, every wicket drew groans loud enough to echo across the room. For a few hours, these spaces stopped being just cafés, they became shared living rooms for cricket lovers.  At Sky Glass Brewing Co., the energy peaked early. Groups huddled around tables, drinks in hand, eyes glued to the screen. The menu played its part, kebab platters, fusion bites, and hearty mains kept the tables busy as the match intensified. “You come for the match, but you stay for the vibe,” said one regular, barely looking away from the screen. Across the city, similar scenes played out. IPL-themed menus took overloaded platters, pizzas, and quick bites paired with chilled beverages became the go-to match companions. Combo deals and group offers made it easier for friends to settle in for long innings, turning match night into a full-fledged outing rather than a quick catch-up. Up above, rooftops added their own charm. At Meraki – Bar and Bistro, the open-air setting brought a different kind of thrill. With the city lights in the background and the match unfolding on big screens, every cheer felt louder, every moment more cinematic. Mocktails clinked, starters circulated, and conversations flowed as effortlessly as the game itself. But what truly stood out was the people. Fans in team jerseys, voices hoarse from cheering, celebrating not just the game but the togetherness it brought. Friends, families, even strangers, coming together, sharing tables, reactions, and laughter. Because on nights like April 1, Lucknow didn’t just watch cricket, it experienced it. But disappointment was in order with home team Lucknow Super Giants, lost to Delhi Capitals, but the sting was lessened with bon homie shared during the collective watching of the match.

An Evening at Food Valley: A Glimpse of Lucknow’s Evolving Food Culture

In the heart of suburban Lucknow, Food Valley, in Gomtinagar is more than just a Food Hub. Indie Times explores this gourmet gully, and finds a living, breathing slice of modern Lucknow, a place where people don’t just come to eat, but to connect, unwind, and create memories together. An Evening in Gomti Nagar, Food Valley feels less like a dining space and more like a vibrant food fiesta. Strings of lights shimmered overhead, signboards glowed in every color, and the air carried the irresistible aroma of sizzling street food. It was the kind of place that instantly pulls you in, warm, vibrant, and full of life. As Indie Times wandered through the buzzing lanes, we struck up conversations with a few outlet owners to get a sense of how things were going. At one of the busiest counters, CHUNGFA, a staff member laughed as he described the rush: “Weekends get crazy, but in the best way. Sales have really picked up these past few months, and evenings are always packed.” Over at Crudo, another vendor shared a different perspective. For them, it’s not just about taste, it’s about how quickly and beautifully the food reaches the customer. “Weekdays are calmer,” he said, “but we still get a steady flow. People don’t come here just to eat they come for the whole experience.” And that sentiment echoed in the crowd. Groups of college students moved from stall to stall, plates in hand, clearly spoilt for choice. “You get everything here,” one of them said, grinning. “Indian, Chinese, Korean, and of course, proper Awadhi and Mughalai  food like Nausheen Jaan. Plus desserts from Neelkanth sweets. So why go anywhere else?” Families visiting the Food Valley, too, seemed completely at ease. Children ran around while parents relaxed in the open seating areas, soaking in the atmosphere. More than one visitor described it as their go-to hangout spot, a place where everyone finds something they love. But what stood out, especially for a place this crowded, was the attention to hygiene. Most stalls had clean counters, staff wearing gloves, and food handled with care. “For a place this busy, it’s surprisingly well-maintained,” one visitor noted appreciatively. But beyond the food and the cleanliness, it’s the feeling of the place that stays with you. Soft music hummed in the background, laughter floated through the air, and conversations overlapped in a comforting chaos. Different cuisines, different people, different stories, all coming together in one shared space. As the night deepened, the energy didn’t fade, it grew. Plates clinked, friends lingered over last bites, and families stretched their evenings just a little longer.  Go Ahead visit Food Valley Folks, it’s bound to surprise you!

Iran has fiercely retaliated by launching its missiles and drones on Israel and other Gulf countries having US military assets. Innocent civilians and children suffer from this mass destruction as death toll rises. One can bomb the world into pieces but it cannot be bombed into Peace. Acts done in war is a crime in peace yet it is said that war is necessary for peace but in this age of civilization, lasting peace can only be achieved through better understanding, diplomacy and enhanced negotiations.  Rajesh Rodricks

Beyond the Stethoscope: Dr. Lokendra Gupta on Health, Habits, and the Power of Mindful Living

This week’s episode of Indie Talk Show brought listeners an insightful and deeply human conversation with Dr. Lokendra Gupta, a renowned specialist of Emergency Medicine and Trauma Care  at Medanta Lucknow. In a thoughtful exchange with host Charanpreet Singh Bagga, the discussion moved far beyond clinical definitions of health, diving into the intricate relationship between mindset, lifestyle, and overall well-being. Dr. Gupta offered a refreshing perspective: health, he explained, is not simply the absence of illness, but a delicate balance of physical strength, mental clarity, and emotional stability. In a world that moves faster every day, he emphasized how our daily choices quietly shape our long-term health. From mindful eating and regular exercise to the power of consistent routines, he highlighted how small habits often make the biggest difference. What made the conversation particularly engaging was Dr. Gupta’s focus on awareness. He pointed out how easily people overlook early warning signs, often brushing them aside in the rush of everyday life. Through relatable, real-life examples, he reminded listeners that paying attention to our bodies is not optional, it’s essential. Equally compelling was his take on mental and emotional well-being. Stress, he noted, doesn’t just stay in the mind, it finds its way into the body, often manifesting as physical ailments. His message was clear: true healing begins within. By practicing mindfulness, cultivating self-discipline, and taking a proactive approach to health, we can reclaim control over our well-being. As the conversation drew to a close, Dr. Gupta left listeners with a simple yet powerful thought, well-being is a choice we make every day. It doesn’t require dramatic changes, but rather small, consistent steps that, over time, lead to a healthier and more meaningful life.
